      Passed away at 6:23 a.m. Sunday morning at St. Mary's Hospital after a three weeks' illness.  He was born September 28, 1887, in Buena Vista Township.  He was a lifelong resident of Saginaw County.  He married Miss Mabel L. Gerken in Saginaw, September 27, 1914.  She survives him.  He was former owner of the Meinecke Farm Dairy, from 1934 - 1946, when his son Lester took over the dairy.  For many years Mr. Meinecke took an active part in church and civic affairs.  He was a member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church, King Road, for many years until his transfer to St. James Lutheran Church on South Washington, also a moderator of Leidlein School in Buena Vista Township a number of years, and president of Buena Vista Threshing Co., member of board of directors, We-Serve-All.  Besides his wife, he leaves three sons: Henry M. Meinecke and Lester J. Meinecke of Saginaw, Charles E. Meinecke Jr., at home, three daughters: Mrs. Gottlieb Ott, Bridgeport, Mich., Mrs. Roy Biermann, Gera, Mich., Mrs. Fred Hagerl, of Saginaw; three sisters, Miss Mary Meinecke, Mrs. George Popp, of Bridgeport and Mrs. Peter Heinlein, Blumfield Township; four brothers, William Meinecke, Davison, Mich., Henry Meinecke, Millington, Mich., John and Albert Meinecke, of Saginaw.  Funeral service will take place at St. James Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday.  Rev. Harry Schultz will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  Friends may see him from 7 p.m. Monday until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Reitz Chapel, and from noon Wednesday until hour of service at St. James Lutheran
