Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend died peacefully at home Monday, December 27, 1999, after a lengthy illness. Age 83 years. Henry was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Saginaw, where he was a lifelong resident. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood. Henry was a lifelong member of the Saginaw County Farm Bureau, Lutheran Fellowship Assoc. and the A.A.L. As a young man, Henry delivered milk, for his family's dairy farm and later owned and operated his own Centennial Dairy Farm in Buena Vista Township, retiring in 1982. He loved traveling, fishing and golfing, cards and being with his family and friends. Surviving besides his wife of 58 years, Grace (McAllister) Meinecke; his children, Donald (Barbara) Meinecke, Saginaw; Jean (Elroy) Schluckebier, Frankenmuth; Ken (Leigh Ann) Meinecke, Toledo, Ohio; his grandchildren, Julie, Brian, and Carrie Meinecke, Michelle, Sandra and Michael Schluckebier, Sara, Peter and Daniel Meinecke. Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Lester Meinecke and Marie Ott; a sister-in-law, Lila Meinecke; brothers-in-law, Roy Bierman and Fred Hagerl. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mable Meinecke; two sisters, Lorraine Hagerl; Evelyn Bierman; a brother, Charles Meinecke; a brother-in-law, Gottlieb Ott. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 1999, at St. James Lutheran Church, 3100 S. Washington, Saginaw. Rev. Lisa Shank will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth after 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday where the family will be present from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
