Passed away Sunday, January 16, 2000 at Heartland Health Care. Age 84 years. Marie W. Meinecke was born June 30, 1915 in Buena Vista Township, the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Gerken) Meinecke. She married Gottlieb Ott in September of 1939. He predeceased her October 1, 1999 after 60 years of marriage. She had worked with her parents at Meinecke Dairy and later as head baker for the Bridgeport-Spaulding School System for 20 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. Surviving are one son, Dennis Ott, Bridgeport; one daughter, Nancy McCrane and her husband Bo, North Carolina; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin M. and Rebecca Ott, Alaska; Keith and Andrea Ott, Constantine, Michigan; Richard Beckley, Knoxville, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Zackery, Mehgan and Dawson; one brother, Lester Meinecke, Saginaw; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Evelyn Bierman and one brother, Henry Meinecke. Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. William W. Hessler will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and then on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
