   James Thomas Teeple, aged 72 years, 10 months and 16 days, dies at his home in Roodhouse, 2:35 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 1922.  Although he had been in failing health for the past year or more he had not been confined to his bed buty a few weeks prior to his demise.  Uremic Poisoning is said to have been the immediate cause of his death.

   He was a son of Bryan and Mahala Smalling-Teeple, and was born on a farm near what is known as the crossroads north of Roodhouse, May 16, 1849, and had since coninuously resided in this county, Greene.

   January 6, 1875, he an Miss Dora Whiteside, who sirvived were married and to this union was born three children -- William Teeple; Myrtle, wife of W. A. Scott and J. Verne Teeple, all of Roodhouse.  He is also survived by two brothers, William L. and Charles B. Teeple, both of Kansas City, MO, and one sister, Mrs. Melissa J. Howard of Neola, Iowa.  Three brothers and two sisters are deceased.  Mrs. Rachel Ballard, who died at her home in this city about a year ago, was a sister of the deceased.

   During the earlier part of his life he followed the occupation of farming but some thirty years ago he moved to Roodhouse and for 27 ears he had the contract for sprinkling the streets of that city, but during the last few years, Roodhouse in line with most of the other towns and villages throughout the country have been using oil on their streets thus doing away with the use of the sprinkler.

   Mr. Teeple was a man of quiet retiring disposition, who attended strictly to his own affairs and was highly regarded by a large circle of friends and in his passing Roodhouse has lost one of her most highly respected citizens.  For years he had been a member of the Roodhouse Bpatist church and his pastor, Rev. Roy S. Brinkman, conducted short funeral services at the late home at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon.  Interment was made in the family lot in the White Hall cemetery.
